Congratulations Mr. King! That's the best I can do for you is call your Mr.King because I am so jealous that you are a GRANDMASTER and I just can¿t compete with you. Thank God I was there in 1998 when I believe you were a green belt or brown belt and I was able to witness your growth and development as a martial artist. Although these characteristics have nothing to do with your abilities; I remember when you use to smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol and were overweight. I¿m sorry that I wasn¿t able to be there to witness you becoming a GM like the other Grandmasters and Professors. Doc would have been proud. By the way, your Youtube videos are phenomenal! ........and pleeeeaaasse keep talking about what doc wanted and what doc said because doc said one thing to the warriors, you and the rest of the Unity Class participants, and doc said one thing to the guys that were just helping him along the way. I will let his spirit rest in peace and not attempt to disparage his name and the name of Sanuces by posting asinine comments on your informative and enlightening website. P. S. people from NY, DC & Philly know that you earned your rank from Doc and those that represent him with love and the knowledge that Doc was reinventing Sanuces.

I have read the entry that was submitted by, "PURESANUCES". This feeble attempt to disparage my teacher has failed. How easy it is to hide in anonymity behind a, "Cyber handle." It clearly demonstrates a lack of integrity and honor. GM King is one of only a few that continue to maintain the Purity and Integrity of Sanuces, when others have clearly, "REBRANDED/RELABLED" Sanuces into some other Art that they are promoting as their own. If you have any concerns about whether GM King (or any of his Yudansha students)is teaching Pure Sanuces, I would invite you to spend some time training with us. At the end of the work out, you can be the judge of whether it felt like Sanuces or not. I would strongly encourage you to suspend these types of attacks. Osu! I have only been in the Sanuces family for a few short years but in that time I have met a great many skilled and wonderfully giving martial artists. Understand, I have trained in the arts for over 23 years, some of my training has been hard Korean military style, but never have I felt the grace and beauty offered by SANUCES! The Sanuces that has come to me has come from Doctor Powell thru my teacher and myteachers teacher, . GRANDMASTER King is an amazing practitioner his strength is in his understanding of what he does and in his understanding of SANUCES. His strength is also in his heart, which is the heart of a man who will open himself to us and give freely asking only that we strive for greatness in ourselves and alway, ALWAYS put the name of Doctor Moses Powell before our own. Last month I spoke to GRANDMASTER Sayfullaah on the phone as I congradulated him I told him that in my 23 years I could think of no better men than the three that were promoted. To you, whomever you may be, you can see who I am I give my name, you can see who we are I give my school, to come to a sight and speak annonimously as you do is not the action of an honorable man, at least have the courage to say what you must if you must face to face. This does nothing to honor the spirit of The Doc, quite the contrary your actions only serve to further show the public and all of Sanuces that we are a house divided. He is a Grandmaster because he is THAT GOOD. He has technique. If you want Dr. Powell's spirit to rest then refrain from coming to this site. If this isn't pure Sanuces then don't write any more comments. You are disrespecting the site that I created for my husband; who I know for a fact that has trained with Dr. Moses Powell in Brooklyn at When Worlds Collide. When my husband would watch videos of "The Doctor" and I asked if he was still around and he said yes I told him to find him and train with him. We both sacrificed so much so that he could learn all that he could from this GREAT MAN! I met THE DOCTOR and stayed at his residence with Sister Gina and received knowledge about Sanuces and life. DR.MOSES POWELL CHANGED OUR LIVES!!!! Thank you for keeping my husband's name out there.

Firstly, I like to congradulate Grandmaster King on his recent promotion. I have only known GM King and his students for just a few years, but it is always a pleasure to see them when we visit their Dojo, and when the visit this area. Secondly, I like to thank Professor James Sims for the excellent seminar he held in Delaware. It was most informative, and it was a blessing to spend time with the instructors and my fellow students. Lastly, I like to second the entry made by my instructor, Professor Saifullah concerning my beloved brother and fellow student Siddiq. I have not been able to concentrate in class since his demise. I felt very, very honored to assist him with this portion of the Seminar, and I want to give Special Thanks to "LUCA BROWSKI" for being the Uki for PROF. James. I also would like to thank everyone else who were involved with this WONDERFUL SEMINAR!!! I want to give SPECIAL THANKS to SHIHAN Dominick for her support and participation as well. SHIHAN Dominick has HONORED us with her presence at the last few Sanuces Seminars and we look foward to gain alot of benefit from her wealth of knowledge also. I would like say that the Sanuces Ryu denomitory Workshop was a great benefit held on 8/11/07. The workshop had some old grandmasters of sanuces showing some of Doc's old techniques and going over some terms, that most Sanuces Schools don't show or don't know. I would like to thank all those Masters and professors who came to teach us the foundation of sanuces Ryu. Eye to Eye Heart to Heart Each One Teach One ouss.

Growing up in Philly and its surrounding areas, I have alway heard about Dr.Powell and Ron Duncan being famous Blacks Martial Artist. I would like to learn Dr. Powell system but currently we have no schools availabe in this area. I have travel throughout the Orient thru out my 20 years in the Military and have always been fascinated in Martial arts. I earned a black belt in isshinryu karate and was an instuctor for self-defense at the Military Police, currently I'm with the The Dept of Homeland Security. Keep in touch-Working on the Mexican Border(Acuna, Mexico and Del Rio, Texas).

The Family of Sanuces is coming together stronger and better everyday. I saw it happening in Philadelhia with the togetherness at the seminar and the way you all worked together coming up one after another and teaching and sharing your movements, also the dinner that night was filled with love and respect for Moses and each other. I also attended the Hall of fame in NY Sunday and to see most of the honories come up and give Moses Powell his respect in front of his family and students was just another level of the power of Sanuces Ryu and the great one Moses Powell. If only the others in the group would wake up and see the unity and come back to the root of it all. Maybe one day it will all come together. God Bless you all who up hold Moses true teachings.

On Jan. 20th I had the honor of being with my sanuces family. At an event that Prof. Sayfullah put on and I must say I have never attended any Sanuces event that I felt so much love there I felt the spirit of Doc. Powell in the room and from those who came up to give us some of what Doc. has given them and they each gave us a technique but words to live and grow by.And the banquet was so well put together I have nothing but high praise for Prof. James Sims and Sayfullah I left that Sunday with joy in my heart and spirit that I will keep always because it was a blessing to be home with my family I thank you from the deepest depth of my heart and soul EYE TO EYE HEART TO HEART

I was a student of Moses Powell back in the '60s. At the time Lil' John Davis was has student and one of his teaching assistants. It was a very exciting time and I truly enjoyed the experience, the training I received, not only in marshal arts, but in life. Moses was not only an incredible artist and magnificent teacher, but he was a dear and true friend. I was sad to learn of his death last year.

I really liked the tribute to Dr. Moses Powell. It really made me miss Doc. Additionally, I recently opened the VSK Jiujtsu Institute of Self Defense in mid June of 2006. It is only the 2nd school in Illinois which offers VSK Jiujitsu. As you may know, Grandmaster Anthony Muhammad is my teacher. Keep me updated to the various upcoming events.

Proffessor King; I was watching an old tape of Doc when it hit me: I realized how blessed I was to have "a piece of th DOC" with me every Mon, Wed, & Sat. during training (and beyond). When I see you move during class, I see Doc move. What a treat that is. My #1 goal is to become one of your Sensei's. You have been a huge blessing to my & my sons life, and although it may sound corney, I just wanted you to know how much you are appreciated. I found Sanuces later in life (sneakin up on 40 in Feb), however other than the slow recovery from injuries (my back is whack and my fingers don't bend 10 degrees, let alone 45), I have found the timing to be perfect, as all the other arts I grew up learning have only helped to prepare me for "tha real"... SANUCES RYU JUJITSU!!! So just keep doin what you do. As you know from my belly, you keep feedin me, and i'll keep eatin. Like a stray cat that has finally found a home, you will never be rid of me. The thing that I like about the website is that it's not about any one else but Moses, most of the websites promote other than the Founder. I thought we all were students of Master Moses but it sounds like some of us believe that we are his equal or better. I think not.

I don't know about that car ride 10 years ago, becuause I was not there. But what I do know is that Doc Always after he spoke to someone he always if he liked put his hand over his heart after greeting someone and later he instructed us all at my Dojo in Delaware that when you greet your Sanuces Brother you should point your one finger up and then to the heart and if it's not returned then you know that the person who did not return it was not really with us ( The Family ). The Sanuces Ryu Bow is rooted in the Teaching of the HEM, just study the science of it.

Greetings; it is good that you are sharing part of Doc's greeting, because it is imperative that people know where the information comes from. like the pointing of the finger! While in California with Doc some 10yrs. ago we were having a discussion while driving in the car. At a stop light there were some brothers on the corner shooting gang signs at us! Brother Mark Walker from Jersey pointed his finger back at the brothers and then pointed his finger back at his heart! The light turned green and we went on. Doc asked Brother Walker where did he get that from? Brother Walker said at that moment he wanted to let those brother know that if they wanted some work he was prepared to die! Doc then said from now on that will be our new Greeting!! This is not about any particular person, but about the truth! peace........

I am a former Marine and have been extremely impressed with the professors¿ instruction, techniques, knowledge, skill, and character. It is a pleasure to receive his instruction. The effectiveness of the techniques taught, and their real world applications, are impressive. The atmosphere in the Dojo is one of family and respect that is rarely seen anywhere. I had the honor of being in one of Professor Powell's seminars held in Oakland sometime in 1990. I was a young black belt in another system and was totally impressed with Professors ability. But the thing that touched me most about him was his down to earth spirit. He and I sat in a small back room and talked for a while and I saw that his knees were bandaged and he was in some discomfort. But he laughed and told me, "I might not be able to move to fast, but if I get my hands on you IT'S OVER." I loved his spirit.

I would like to thank the Professor Sayfullah for that nice documentary he presented about Doctor Moses Powell the founder of that great fighting system named Sanuces Ryu Jujitsu Eye to Eye fighting. I would like to advise my brother Sayfullah that when some people see other people doing good they would like to find something where there is nothing, to cause trouble in thier ranks to see who will bite the bait. But Alhamdulillah (All praise is to Allah) we know from the true religion (Islam) that there is no power and no might except by Allah. Being that we know people don't control anything for even a blink of an eye and we know they don't even control when they wake up nor when death takes their souls. So as our Prophet Muhammad Ibn Abdullah alQuriashee alHashamee born in Arabia more than 1,400 years ago the seal of all the messengers said in his sunnah, "If the whole world was to gathered together to do some harm to you they would not be able to harm you unless Allah willed it and if the whole world was to gathered together to do some good for you they will not be able to do that good for you unless Allah willed it."
